The oldest and largest private dialysis centre is situated in the city centre attached to the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital. This large hospital has an entire range of facilities including a large trauma and emergency centre. Not only does it offer dialysis and a full range of Cardiac, Respiratory, Neurology, Obstetric, Gynaecological and Paediatric services, but it also has a large Intensive Care Unit. The Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in Cape Town doing Cardiac and Renal Transplants. The dialysis unit is modern and spacious and equipped with bicarbonate compatible Fresenius machines. Visiting patients are always welcome and will be accommodated on a shift to suite their itinerary as far as is possible. |
